Active Communities

Funding in the form or a subsidy or loan is available for sport, fitness and active leisure activities.

Priority is given to activities that train volunteers and increase participation in activities.

  • Bluff Rugby Club, travel for school boy teams - $986 and balls - $278
  • Southend United Junior Football Club, portable goals and posts - $1,135
  • Southland Badminton Association, racquets and shuttles for youth programme - $2,200
  • Southland Masters Badminton, shuttles - $500
  • Panthers Softball Club, safety gear - $800
  • Table Tennis Southland, scoreboards and umpire tables - $300
  • Girl Guiding Southland, have a go day - $500
  • Invercargill Army Cadet Unit, youth camp - $500
  • Sport Southland, aqua-jogging programme - $800
  • Cycling Southland, youth size bikes - $1,750 and volunteer training - $950
