Heritage
The Southland Regional Heritage Committee, a joint committee of the Invercargill City, Southland District and Gore District Councils, is responsible for the allocation of funding to groups undertaking heritage projects and to the region's smaller museums.
The SRH Development Fund provides grants for projects and initiatives which preserve, communicate and promote Southland's heritage and are significant in a regional context.
The Fund assists local museums with items or collections of relevance to local and regional heritage for the purpose of cataloguing, preserving, curation or display of those items or collections.
Applications for grants will be considered twice a year (applications close on March 31 and September 28). The Committee will endeavour to notify applicants of the Committee's decision within 10 weeks of the closing date of applications. Hard copies of all documents are available from the offices of all three participant local authorities.
