District Plan

The District Plan is the Invercargill City Council's statement of how it wishes to see the natural and physical resources managed, so the resources will continue to be there for future generations. Under the Resource Management Act 1991, all councils have to prepare district plans.

Note that Council is reviewing its Draft District Plan. Updates are available on this page, and summaries of background papers are available here.

Note: The Council's Code of Practice for Land Development includes two main documents plus Council amendments and is currently not available on the website. Hard copies are available on request: email planning@icc.govt.nz

Plan Change 9 - Otatara Sub-Area

Certain objectives and policies, and rules relating to Areas of Significant Vegetation and Significant Habitats of Indigenous Fauna, took effect from July 17, 2010.
