Building fees
The current minimum fees payable for building consents and related services are detailed in the fees and charges section of the Council's 2010-2011 Annual Plan.
The fees listed are a deposit only, and must accompany the application. They do not include DBH, BRANZ or Accreditation levies. These are calculated on the value of work as below :
- BRANZ and DBH Levies: $3.01 per $1,000 of GST inclusive work for all applications with a value of work of $20,000 or more.
- Accrediation Levy: $1.02 per $1,000 of GST inclusive work for all applications of $5,000 or more.
Unless paid prior, the levies and any additional processing time will be charged once the consent has been granted. Please note that as the consent is not legally considered as being issued until the fees are paid in full, work must not start in advance of the payment being made.
Other fees which might apply
Depending on the nature of the work to be carried out there may be additional costs and the Council recommends that you build such factors into your calculations and estimates before commencing any work.
