Fires are not permitted in any of the Council's parks, reserves or gardens. However if there is not a fire ban in the area, you are permitted to use your own portable gas barbeque.
This vehicle was modified locally in 2008 to become
a Southern Rural Fire Authority water tanker
housed at the Invercargill Fire and Ambulance Centre.
Contact the Council's Parks and Reserves team or the Southland Rural Fire District to check if a fire ban is in force.
Because of the hazardous nature of burning industrial by-products or waste, such fires and burn-offs require a resource consent. Environment Southland manages and issue the consents for the region's industrial fires - if you have any questions or concerns contact Environment Southland directly.
