Unique areas

Wetlands, native bush and the coastline: Invercargill District has areas identified as being of significance because of their vegetation and unique environments.

The Council advocates non-regulatory methods to complement its work and has been heavily involved in a number of community education initiatives in order to empower and encourage owners and occupiers of properties to manage their environment in more sustainable ways.
