Code of Conduct

Under the Local Government Act 2002 Council is required to adopt a Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets out understandings and expectations about the manner in which elected representatives may conduct themselves while acting in their capacity as elected representatives.

It includes expected behaviour toward one another, staff and the public, expectations around the disclosure of information and an explanation of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and other enactments that are applicable to the Elected Representatives. 

The current Code of Conduct was adopted on December 7, 2010.
