Media releases
These are official news items normally prepared by the Communications Manager or the Communications Officer. They are targeted at press, radio and television decision-makers but are also available, unabridged, on this website page.

The Council's website is updated regularly and provides a wealth of information about Council activities, plans and services. While online you can apply for a Council job, perform property/rates searches or check what shows are coming up at the Civic Theatre. This page gives a more detailed view.

City Council Noticeboard
Noticeboard is published in The Southland Times, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The full-page service features topical news and information about Council staff and the services they provide. Go here for a downloadable version.

City Council Newsletter
This four-page newsletter is delivered quarterly to your home with your rates notice. There are online versions here.

City Council Community News
Find out what the Council is doing in the community by reading our regular Community News pages in The Southland Express (the information is also available here). The Express is free to Invercargill and Bluff residents. 

City Talkback
This interactive show screens on Cue Television at 8pm on the first Wednesday of every
month. Ring in to speak with the Mayor and Councillors. Council feedback to issues raised by callers is available here.

Radio Southland 96.4 FM
Tune in fortnightly to hear Councillors talk about topical issues.

Telephone Information Service
This service allows visually impaired people to access Council information. Contact the
Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind's Information and Advice team on 0800 24 33 33, option 1.

City Council Radio News
Reminders and information about what is new at the Council each month. Tune
into Classic Hits 98.8FM, Newstalk ZB 864AM and Coast 92.4FM.
