Drive up, jump out, dive in!

The Southland Aquatic Centre - Splash Palace - is one of the top public pool facilities in New Zealand.

The centre's southern coastal theme makes it a great place to visit. Splash Palace is within walking distance of the central business district and close to motels and parks. The facility at 56-58 Elles Road includes a 50m x 8 lane sports pool with a bulkhead, a leisure pool with waves and sprays, a tots' pool and a learners' pool. There is also a water slide, spa pool, steam room and a cafe. And there's plenty of off-street parking. Questions? Contact the staff by email or phone.

The Council also operates the Bluff Swimming Pool, the most southern indoor public swimming pool in the world. This facility includes a 25m x 6 lane pool which is open from September to March each year. The Bluff pool is in Liffey Street.

Activities from July 5 to July 16 include:

• Organised games Monday to Friday, 11am to 3pm from July 5 to July 16.
• Party at the Palace: pool party/disco on Friday, July 16 from 6pm to 8pm. $5 entry includes chips and drink (tickets available from Splash Palace reception). DJ, inflatables, 5m Big Slide, Waves/Sprays, The Black Twister Waterslide, lots of fun - and lots of prizes to be won!

• Sat July 24: Swim Southland League Meet #2. Deep end of main pool closed 4pm - 8pm.

Due to popular demand Splash Palace has introduced a three-month membership option.
 
Following the introduction of a three-month winter membership last year the pools complex has had many calls asking if the membership option would be available this year. A number of people also asked if we could extend a three-month membership throughout the year.
 
Three-month memberships are now available for all age groups. The charges:

• Child        $60.90
• Student    $87.80
• Adult       $114.50
• Senior      $80.40
