"I never thought I'd end up doing this as my job," said Shaw. "And to be able to bring it back to the small town I'm from is pretty surreal. I'm just excited to get out there and show Invercargill what we do."
He's joined by BMX world record holder Jed Mildon, of Taupō — the first rider in the world to land a triple backflip on a BMX — and Wellington's Ellie Chew, known to fans as the "Flying Kiwi."
"My BMX has taken me all over the world, but there's still nothing like performing for a Kiwi crowd," said Mildon. "New Zealanders go off for this stuff, and getting to bring the show home again is always something special."
"Being the only girl out there on the ramps is something I don't take lightly," said Chew. "I want young girls watching to see that this sport isn't just for the boys — that you can fly just as high as anyone else. It means a lot to be able to show that in Invercargill."
Headlining the international line-up is Robbie Maddison, the "Modern Day Evel Knievel" and one of action sports' most decorated names, alongside FMX World Champion and record X Games medallist Rob Adelberg.
"One of the best things about this job is getting to meet new people and see new places," said Maddison. "We can't wait to get down to Southland and give the fans there a show they'll remember."
"There's something for everyone with this show — fans, first-timers, parents, kids, grandparents," said Adelberg. "Don't be shy, everyone's welcome. We'll see you in Invercargill this December."
