A funeral service to celebrate the life and legacy of our longest-serving Mayor, Sir Tim Shadbolt, will be held in the city at 2pm on Friday 16 January.
The service is open to the public, with doors opening at 1pm. As seating is limited, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to allow time to be seated. If the theatre reaches capacity, additional rooms will be available to view the service via video.
Following the service, the funeral procession will depart the Civic Theatre, making its way down Tay Street, onto Clyde Street, and continuing to Invercargill Airport, home to the Sir Tim Shadbolt Terminal. Those wishing to pay their final respects are invited to line the streets along the procession route.
A private interment at Eastern Cemetery will follow for close friends and family of Sir Tim.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed (viewable below).
