Parks Week

Parks Week ran from 2 to 9 March 2026.

This Parks Week, we invited the community to enjoy the benefits of fresh fruit and vegetables grown in public spaces.

As the main growing season came to an end, produce from several vegetable gardens and fruit trees in Invercargill’s parks was ready to be harvested just in time for Parks Week.

🥬 Vegetables were ready in our gardens at Bluff, Otakaro Park, the Pipe Band Hall and Queens Park.

🍎 Apples and pears were ready for picking at Donovan Park and at the Derwent Crescent Playground.

🪴 Please respect the garden beds and only take what you need.

Parks Week is an annual event celebrated across Australasia in the first week of March to recognise the important role that open spaces play in creating thriving communities.
