Bluff residents can drop storm affected green waste off for free this Saturday, 22 November, at the Bluff Transfer Station.
To help manage demand, the Bluff Transfer Station will have extended hours this Saturday, from 11am to 4pm.
What are the rules for free green waste drop off?
- Only light vehicles and residential trailers will be accepted on to the site (no commercial green waste).
- Only clean green waste will be accepted on to the site (no contaminated green waste or general waste).
- All green waste must be presented loose and not in bags or containers.
- Material accepted at this site should be storm affected clean green waste (for example: manageable tree trunks and branches that can be loaded into a light vehicle/trailer).
- We cannot accept cabbage trees or flaxes, as these are not suitable for shredding/composting.
Who can access free green waste disposal this weekend?
Only light vehicles and residential trailers will be accepted on to the free site service (no commercial green waste operators of any kind- commercial operators will be instructed to dispose their green waste at the Bluff Transfer Station, as per normal activity, and charged accordingly).
Will there be changes to traffic management at the site?
There will be no changes to traffic management arrangements at Bluff Transfer Station this Saturday. Site users should access the site according to the normal access arrangements.
What days and times will the Bluff free green waste disposal operate?
To accommodate free storm affected clean green waste disposal, Bluff Transfer Station will have extended opening hours this Saturday from 11am-4pm.
This Sunday the site will open as per the normal operating times from 10am-12:30pm. Please be aware, all green waste brought over the weighbridge to Bluff Transfer Station on Sunday 23/11, will be subject to the standard charging arrangements.
