Tree harvesting at Sandy Point Domain

Invercargill City Council will begin harvesting trees at Sandy Point Domain from Thursday 20 August for approximately three weeks.
Phase 1: Mountain Bike Area - Starting Thursday 20 August
Roads affected:
- Christies Rd may be closed at times while logs are being loaded
- Logging trucks will be operating on Sandy Point Rd
Some mountain bike trails will be temporarily closed during the harvest. Please follow all signs and instructions from contractors and do not enter cordoned-off areas.
Phase 2: Sandy Point Rd at Christies Rd - Start date to be confirmed.
Roads affected:
- Sandy Point Rd will be closed between Christies Rd and Daffodil Bay Rd (south intersection) for approximately one week. A detour will be available via Daffodil Bay Rd
- Logging trucks will be operating on Sandy Point Rd
Phase 3: Dunns Rd near Beach Road Holiday Park - Start date to be confirmed.
Roads affected:
- There will be stop/go traffic management on Dunns Rd near the Beach Road Holiday Park.
- Logging trucks will be operating on Dunns Rd.
Trees will also be harvested from several other forestry blocks within Sandy Point Domain, but this work is not expected to require any road closures.
