• For every meal you cook, you introduce 2–3L of water into your home

Try to ventilate your house at least once a day:

✔️ Open windows on opposite sides of your house for at least 20 minutes

Windows are one of the biggest contributors to heat loss in your home. To keep the heat energy in your home:

✔️ Close curtains during the evening
✔️ Place beds away from windows

Upgrade your curtains to improve the insultation of your windows:

✔️ Upgrade to multi-layered curtains
✔️ Minimise gaps between the curtain rail and the wall
✔️ Ensure the your curtains close to the window framework to minimise heat loss

Ensuring your home's primary heat source is running efficiently will keep your home warmer:

✔️ Clean your heatpump's dust filters at least once a month
✔️ Ensure your firewood is dry and chopped to an appropriate size - about 110mm

Draughty doors can be a big contributor to heat loss in your home. Run your hands along the frame of your doors to feel for any draughts.

✔️ Install a door stop to reduce draughts at the bottom of your door
✔️ Install draught-seals around the door frame

Check your ceiling insulation:

✔️ Make sure your insultation covers all of your ceiling
✔️ Ensure there are no gaps, and all the insultation is butted tightly-together
