- Manufacturer’s specifications and installation instructions for make and model
- If the fuel burner does not meet the clearance requirements of the Manufacturer’s Instructions or AS/NZS2918:2001. Provide reduction factor calculation page of AS/NZS 2918:2001 and indicate reduced clearances on floorplan for any required heat shielding
Flue and Liner
- Manufacturers Installation Instructions – showing compliance to AS/NZ 2918:2001
- Manufacturers Technical Information for Flue and Liner system, provide construction detail of flue penetration for skillion roof or penetration of 1 or more floors
- Provide dimensioned drawing showing the details and location if the flue is offset
- Chimney Ventilation
Wetback
- Confirm if tempering valve is new or existing
- Confirm if connected to open vented HWC to comply with NZBC G12/AS1
- Provide Certifying Plumbers details
- Provide drawing of wetback revolve pipe setup
Second Hand Fuel Burners
- Statement from an approved person confirming the appliance is acceptable to install. An approved person or a member of the NZHHA – NZ Home Heating Association. Note: Fuel Burner must have a new flue system
Oil Fire and Diesel Burners
- Location of appliance and smoke alarms shown on floorplan
- Provide confirmation appliance tested to AS1690 Domestic Oil Fire Appliances Safe Design Code
- Manufacturers clearances to combustibles comply
- Test Certifier approval for appliance provided (for diesel supply above 50kPa)
- Confirmation appliance will be installed in a ventilated space
- Flue Installation
- Manufacturer’s installation requirements
- Roof/wall flashing information provided to comply with NZBC E2
Tank Installation – confirm or provide the following
- Manufacturer’s installation requirements
- Tank location is minimum 2.5m away from any window of any habitable room or kitchen in any building on any adjoining property
- Tank is not less than 380mm from the boundary (refer 3.2.7 AS 1691
- Tank is 100mm away from a combustible wall or 20mm away from non-combustible wall
- Construction details for any bunding
- Tank vent opening must not be within 1m from any opening into the dwelling or any window (including a fixed glazed window)
- Details of how the tank is restrained / fixed down
- Fuel supply line is metallic
- Diesel Tank to be certified and be Stainless Steel
Fire Valve
- Make and Type
- Installation Instructions
- Location (must be outside and compliance with manufacturer’s instructions)
